The Tubes
Here is a little patch of land just a few miles south of us in Lake Erie we call The Tubes. Named for the metal stretch of tubes you cross upon entering. This place is like magic, worries and stress of my day to day life slip away, as if I were on vacation. So far we have biked the first loop. Joe was in town for the last couple weeks, it's his last big home trip before he goes back to Iraq next year. He and Julie spend his first week home up north with her family on their property in Bellaire (Michigan) and they invited us up too. We went for the weekend and had a really great time. We also took a day trip to Gatlinburg, Tennessee while down south. The Mountains where gorgeous! It was so overwhelming beautiful all we could say was wow, wow, wow over and over again. I didn't know there were so many shades of green.

With the nice weather I've been able to hang the laundry outside. When I can hang laundry outside, I only use the dryer for undergarments, which turns a conventional 60 minute dry time into only 10 minutes! Plus the clothes smell so wonderful after drying outside. I intend to plant strongly fragrant flowers in that area next month, like maybe the ( Read more... )
