I had three days off, but two of them were spent four hours away because Jim's grandma passed away. We went to the funeral, and it was a really nice service. I missed my baby, but I know he had fun at my aunt's and my grandma's. He always does, and it's good for him to socialize with other people. That way he's a social baby and has no problems with the transition to pre-school and then school. Though he seems to be doing fine even now; it's so funny to watch his smile at women and then men. He has a flirty smile for the ladies and a regular smile for the men. It's adorable.
Now, you guys would never guess what we found at work tonight. I found it on the floor, and thought it was a pen wrapped in toilet paper. Which was weird. Then we realized it was a pipe of some kind with a glass bulb on the end! At first we thought it was a marajuana pipe, but it was too small. Then we thought maybe it was a crack pipe, but the upstairs nurse called his girlfriend who had to learn about drug stuff for her job, and she said it was a meth pipe!
That's crazy! Who brings a meth pipe into a nursing home?! I mean, that likely means some employee is smoking meth and then taking care of the residents. That's nasty stuff.
Were were just so shocked to have found it. I've never seen one before, and I'm so... I guess sheltered, because I've never taken drugs or anything, so I was really really shocked. Like a naive nerd. Still, it was just... whoa.
I'm probably going to be switching jobs in the new few weeks. I'm going to a different nursing home where I can start out on evenings and go to days, or wait a month and just go to days. Now that I've got the baby, I need some kind of real schedule. With graveyard it's like I don't see him practically at all for four days in a row. Plus, I'm getting older and it's harder for me to deal with this crazy sleep schedule.
So, I'm nervous (because I've never worked days or evenings) but also excited.
And now I have to go do some more work, but I had to share that crazy meth pipe story.
