without skipping a beat...

Me: Is there a Danny here today?

7th Grade Boy: Danny is the gay guy on Teen Wolf!

Me: Everyone is gay on Teen Wolf.

7th Grade Boy: What?

Me: ...nothing.

Like, it actually took me a couple of seconds to realize what I'd said was not, in fact, true.

But the kid actually watches Teen Wolf! And enjoys it! Which makes COMPLETE SENSE but I'd just never thought of it! Who better to skip over glaring plot holes than middle schoolers??? These are kids who claim they have no idea what to do (and therefore it can't possibly be done!) even when they're holding a detailed step-by-step instruction manual in their hands. OF COURSE they'd look at teen wolf and just go, "I hope when I go to high school I'm as cool as Jackson!" and also (mostly) "Wheeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!"

eta: I'm don't mean to sound like I think that anyone 16+ watching Teen Wold is wrong, okay, I watched the hell out of the first two seasons. I'm just saying maybe middle school is secretly/accidentally the demographic they're shooting for. Maybe. Idk.

I need to talk to this kid more, obviously. Find out who his favorite character is, etc. For science.

(I also told a couple other boys why I'd stopped watching Dr. Who ("Because it's sexist and it was making me angry.") and one kid's response was, "Well just because all the companions are girls..." and kind of trailed off. Bring it dude. Bring it.)

teen wolf, do i really need a real life tag?, jobbing
