Magnolia and maybe GARDINIA.
Perfume first, work second? How's that sound?
So today I tried on Estee Lauder's Beautiful Love (I tried Beautiful too, but Love is what I'm focusing on) and I really disliked it, for the exact same reason I disliked Badgely Mischka's Fleurs de Nuit. Overwhelming, waxy white flowers. I'm SURE of it. I just brought up a list of the notes in each scent, and the ones they have in common are: magnolia and jasmine, as well as a general 'white florals' listing. Ok, so being that they smell VERY SIMILAR to me, despite all the notes they DON'T both have, I'm guessing I have the same problem as onelittlesleep in that white florals (It's the magnolia, I'm SURE of it) just do NOT work for me. All day I could smell this big waxy flower sitting under my nose, and now I have a headache. Ugh.
Now, the reason I was in need of perfume comfort int he first place was because I've changed my job. No. I still have the same job, but I've been moved up to a bigger and more prestigious store. I'm kind of sad because it was all very sudden (was told Tuesday, had everything confirmed Wednesday, started Monday), and because I was at the old shop for two years and I loved all my staff and they loved me, damnit. Two of them cried when I said I was leaving! So sweet. Also, I've added about twenty minutes each way to my commute AND lots of other annoying things that make the pay rise (small to start with) negligible, BUT. It's a step up in the company, and temporary, and really just a stepping stone. BUT STILL. New job, new people, new area, I tried on perfume to cheer myself up and then HATED it, SIGH.
On the other hand, now I know for sure that I hate white florals, or at least magnolia. And the more I know about what I hate, the more I'll know about what I like, right? Judging on the stuff I love, I need to look for notes of bergamot, violet, vanilla, rose, amber, hairspray (really!), anything citrusy, any sort of sweet fruit, foody spices like cardamon, moss, wood and musk. AS FAR AS I KNOW. I'll keep testing.
In other news! The recent Misha shenanignas - everything he does only makes me love him more. I can't believe there are people out there who DISLIKE him! SILLY. Also, last week's Supernatural...verrrrry slow to start, but finished well. Needs 100% more Castiel.
I have a HEADACHE. I need a shower, and a soothing dash of Amorito. And maybe another mojito.
