Halloween 2013 and jewelry makes

FYI, this is going to be an image-heavy post, so if you no likey, don't clicky on linky :) S'alright? S'alright.

So this year's Halloween party was very small because everyone was so freaking busy! So it was just a little dinner party with my peeps. We still had a lot of fun, though :)

Since it was such a small get-together, I didn't go all-out with the decorating this year. I did, however, still make my usual personal touches, starting with tombstone place cards for each of us:

The calligraphy took from 20-30 minutes each, so I made everyone promise to keep theirs for at least a week before they decide to toss them, just so I could feel like my effort was not wasted ;)

Here is ant3ka as Venelope von Schweetz. She always has the BEST costumes! You can also see some of my pumpkins and more of the decorating to her right/your left.

Next, alcorandmizar and yours truly as a mad scientist and steampunk girl, respectively. Yes that's a real lab coat she's wearing and, yes, that's a real corset on moi.

The top hat I'm wearing is from Target, but I decorated it myself with some ribbon, felt, fabric patches, and a whole lotta tacky glue. I'm really happy with how it turned out!

Here's a picture of my hutch. In contrast to last year's Witch's Cabinet, this year alcorandmizar and I just did a light decoration, including her awesome canvas picture with the light up candelabra. Yes there are plenty of regular items behind the Halloween stuff, but meh, as I said, we went with a light touch this year. I'm just thankful I had some help in decorating!

She also brought some homemade yummy chicken-pesto bites in feta shells that were SOOOO tasty. She also ALSO helped me with the Halloween portion of my dish, Eye Popping Tomato Soup:

Cool, huh? LOL. The soup I made from scratch--a first for me, and I'm relieved that it turned out tasty. The eyes are mozzarella balls hollowed out in the middle, with a sliced olive with pimento acting as the eyeball. They looked SO CREEPY and I was so happy :) I also made some really awesome cocktails that were called Hocus Pocus Fizzy...somethings, can't remember the last word from the recipe title...anyway, they were red, tasted like pina coladas (without the blending), and you topped them off with champagne for the fizz. Needless to say, those went down REAL easy and will deffo make an appearance at a future Halloween party :) I also ALSO made pumpkin pie, and it was delish, if I do say so myself, and I do, and in fact, just did >:-D

Here's a group pic courtesy of alcorandmizar to wrap things up, with Galahad (and his adorable orange jester's collar) in my arms and johnboy91719 to my left/your right:

Funny story about Galahad: Last year he had no problem wearing the collar, but this year, right after I put it on, he started crawling around on his belly and would not rise up to full walking height! The moment I took it off, up he sprang. I don't know if it was tight on him so he felt like he was being disciplined or what, but it's so stretchy, I can't believe it would be tight. Anyway, I put it on him again for the pic, and right after, there he was on his belly again, so I took it off once more. I hope he doesn't act that way when Christmas rolls around--I LOVE that green velvet collar! Oh and in case you're wondering where Ginger was, she was upstairs, hiding from all the people, as usual ;)

Okay, so that was Halloween 2013. The rest of the pictures are some I've been meaning to post for months but have been too damn lazy unable to share them until now. I've started making jewelry, and I quite enjoy it :) Here are a few examples, most of them made as gifts for others, but some made as a gift to me, FROM me. Hope you like them! Don't be surprised if I start taking requests in the near future for necklaces, bracelets, or earrings for anyone who'd like one/would be willing to pay a little and help a sistah out :)

That last one isn't quite right yet...the lace is too weak to support the rose beads. But I'll figure something out :)

Off to do...something now. Something else other than sitting at this computer, anyway. It will involve a beverage because I'm thirsty. Anyway, hope everyone is doing just swell :) ::SNUGS::

i made it myself!, squeeeeee!, ginger, friends, busy busy buussszzy!, memememeeee, galahad, doot doot doo, life
