Lowestoft is very pink at the moment. I realised housing on the way Tesco is of a similar age to the houses in Kilburn in London, both of which were constructed after the arrival of railway transport. Having housing of a similar age they have the same sort of garden plantings - lots of mature cherry trees and magnolia (which have a scent, I never ( Read more... )

From what I was seeing from the news on the interwebs other people in Norfolk / Suffolk must have got it a bit worse than we did. Trees down, train lines blocked, it was just a bit blowy but not much else happened here. I even went down to the sea wall at the Ness and the waves weren't quite as bad as I thought. I had the Air Ambulance nearly end up on my roof last night. I'm also likely to be in the Lowestoft Journal next week after being interviewed and my photos being asked for. Why do they always ask you to state your age I wonder ( Read more... )
