I'm always putting off getting things done. Here's the first of a series of short videos I originally wanted to create in 1994. Damn we were all young once!
Click on Guide to Houston - Episode 1 after the jump I'm surprised how much we all look like hot young people. (With the exception of my rather odd choice of wardrobe.)
I've re-imagined the material significantly from its original intent. Rather than build it as a pseudo-narrative (which didn't work) I've added the element of Bugdexatron Inc. creating this as a promotional film. This fictional company has been a recurring gag in my videos since 1991.
If any of you have had to sit through old corporate films or instructional videos then this will be a painful satire of those. This kind of film was a staple of MST3K, and for good reason.
To get the full effect of those terrible ephemeral works I've uses things like the 'star iris wipe' and spinning cube transitions which once dominated low budget corporate video. In the '80s some companies had access to an analog switcher or an Amiga Video Toaster, and they would find any excuse to show off the distracting and inappropriate effects these machines were capable of. I apologize in advance for the inclusion of these effects.
