Well, it's been awhile so I'll just give the hyper-condensed version of how the bathroom was finished off. There are a lot of other things going on with life, especially in my varied hobbies, and I'd like to cover those here as well. It did, though, remind me of how out-of-date this journal is.

So far this journal has been playing catch-up, documenting things that have been done in the past. Since a lot of this work was done very much as a response to catastrophic situations (help - the awnings fell down!), there wasn't a lot of documenting what happened. The first big project we tackled was opening the stairway from downstairs to upstairs. The house had been used as a 2-unit rental with separate entrances: they floored over the stairway upstairs and turned the space into a dining room area. When we first moved in, the very, very, very first thing that was done was to make the living room livable (more than just a thorough cleaning). The living room was painted aqua, and had this very worn and horrible blue-green shag carpet. New paint: white for the window trim, cream for the walls.
