It turns out the reason why my computer is making those noises all the time is because -- as I suspected ALL ALONG -- the fan is busted. The guy at the Apple Store offered to repair it -- which would take a week, because apparently they're just that tied up with work orders. Today we went to this place [Wikipedia] in Hartford, which opened up this past June, which was pretty interesting and certainly entertained my inner child.
