WMC - A Fairy Tale Ending - Vs 3.0 Episode 2

Jul 27, 2009 08:25

Second episode of the Women’s Murder Club virtual mini-series and there is absolutely no coming down from it.wmc_vs

This VS mini-series has gone from rollercoaster ride to unstoppable speed train. Haunted by demeter94  was crafted with inventiveness and exceptional attention to detail. Through out the episode flashbacks are interjected and take us to various and very significant points in the Club’s history. We also get to spend a generous amount of time in the dark recesses of KMN’s mind. And it is well…hunting.

The club really needs to stop Pete this time because otherwise it’s over for all of them.

The Case: Things are moving at a frantic pace in this episode. Now that everyone is aware of KMN’s identity it is now time to figure out how to catch him. This won’t be easy. Pete may be a crazy-ass psychopathic misogynistic creep, but he is not stupid. He is in fact very meticulous, resourceful and methodological. We see how his obsession with Lindsay started and the frightening way in which he plans to end it. Pete-Me-Not is so twisted that he actually thinks that by murdering people who did some members of the club harm, he can win points with Lindsay.

The Club: We get a very informative trip down memory lane. We learned more about Lindsay and Jill’s brief and sorrowful romantic past while Claire relives a somber period when the body of Ed’s shooter turns up on her autopsy table.

The Flashbacks: Each past event described is plausible and believable. And the reason for that is simple. Every one of them is real. From now on, I won’t be able to imagine their past any other way.

Lindsay/Cindy:  From being kept on the fringe of the investigation for most of the episode to her growing guilt and shame, Lindsay has never been so close to the breaking point. The emotional build-up delivers the most honestly heart-wrenching moment these two have ever gone through.

The Triangle:  I’m not counting Denise out yet, but it looks like if she doesn’t make a move soon she is going to have her work cut out for her. Maggie - my personnel choice against popular opinion - is doing all the right things. It would appear Jill is warming up to her, and so is the rest of the club to some extent with the understandable exception of Redhead. Honestly though, whoever Jill ends up with, I’ll accept. The woman deserves some happiness.

This is why they invented water-proof mascara

"What's wrong?" Cindy's gaze was full of compassion, a sentiment Lindsay was quite sure she

didn't deserve. In any case, she couldn't handle it at the moment.

“We need to talk about this some more.” Cindy gave her a sad smile before she drew the door shut behind her.

Lindsay wanted to believe that they were going to be okay, but the sound of the door falling shut let her mind slither into a scary déjà-vu.

The entire exchange taking place between these two passages. I don’t think I need to add more. I just…yeah *sniff*

Just because I’m fond of Maggie doesn’t mean I can’t appreciate a good burn at her expense

“However, I am not yet convinced of your investigative skills. Here's the truth, Hollywood, sewing has never been my hobby.”

*Do people still say burn? ;)

If my heart stopped and I got zapped with 300 Joules, I wouldn’t be more shocked

The cliffhanger.

After years of anguish, the end of a marriage, friendships almost torn apart, a home destroyed and a new love tested, the Inspector Boxer vs Kiss-Me-Not saga culminates into a most alarming scene. Pete Raynor, one of the craziest most disturbed killers San Francisco has ever known, takes Lindsay.

This is not an edge-of-seat moment. Forget the seat. The seat is gone. This is a pacing-the floor-biting-my-nails-until-next-Friday-at-8pm moment
