So. How can I make a difference? This is a question I like to ask myself often. I mean it in my professional endeavors *which are non-existent right now* as well as my volunteer endeavors *I am involved in EWB Boston.*
I have been reading a lot of inspiring things lately, online as well as in print. The book I am reading is called Gaviotas: A Village to Reinvent the World. It is amazing, but I will comment further on it when I finish it.
I have not been applying to very many inspiring jobs. I have been applying to many uninspiring jobs. I am applying to some jobs in the area of water filter design with the idea to gain some knowledge I can put to work in the future for volunteer or professional work in developing nations. But is that what I want? I know I thought it was. Alas, I am feeling restless again.
What would life be like if I could go gallivanting off to Gaviotas, Colombia, to engineer some cool sustainable invention? Conversely, how can I make something similarly inspiring possible? I know that everything is here in front of me, I just have to figure out how to look at it all in a new way.
I am so young and I know nothing about the world. But that is half the exhilaration of it.
So. How are you making a difference?
