I am reading "No More Prisons" by William Upski Wimsatt (Subtitle: Urban life, homeschooling, hip-hop leadership, the cool rich kids movement, a hitchhiker's guide to community organizing, and why philanthropy is the greatest art form of the 21st century).
It is a very inspiring and revolutionary book. I am attempting to write an inspiring and revolutionary book. Okay, right. I am writing an inspiring and revolutionary book. I write less while I am job-searching, but I write more when I learn things. I think the book-writing will extend into the next phase of my life (whatever that may be), and I will have many more things to say when my life has entered a new phase. It will be good for my book not to finish it this summer. I am not in a hurry, and I know that I will finish it when I finish it.
The more I think about it, the more I think I might move to Albuquerque, NM for a temporary job doing progressive organizing through the Nov. elections. I also might get the chance to go to Honduras very soon for 3-6 months. So there are options....
Job-searching is not very conducive to being present in the moment. There are moments I do live in the moment, and there are more moments that I am thinking too much.
