Forever...
Zhane walked over to the Synthetron. "Two years, really?" he asked, pulling a cup out of the machine. He turned around to look at Andros. He was standing a few feet away, watching him, "Andros?"
Without a word, Andros crossed the distance between them two steps and threw his arms around Zhane's neck.
"Whoa!" Zhane exclaimed, trying to keep from spilling his drink. He failed. Luckily, he was close enough to the table to manage to set the cup down before returning the embrace. "Andros, is everything all right?" he asked worriedly.
Andros didn't answer. The two of them stood there for a minute, holding each other. Finally, Andros pulled away slowly.
"Andros?" Zhane realized that he had tears in his eyes.
"What the hell were you thinking?" Andros demanded, his voice surprisingly even.
No, actually, his voice was the only thing unsurprising about him right now, Zhane thought. "What?" he asked confused.
"Jumping in front of that monster like that. You could have been killed."
Zhane blinked, "Andros-"
"How could you do that to me?"
"Andros, I- I was protecting you."
"At what cost?" he was almost yelling now. "Do you have any idea what I went through? Because it wasn't enough to first loose my sister, then my whole planet, I almost lost you too. I did loose you Zhane! For two years! I had no idea if you were ever going to wake up or not. I sat in that room with you every day for months! It was all I could do to..." he trailed off.
"Andros," Zhane said softly, taking a step closer and putting a hand on his arm. "I'm not going to apologize for saving your life." He looked down, "But I am sorry that you had to go through that alone."
"I missed you so much," Andros told him.
Zhane pulled in into a hug, holding him close, "I'm back now. I'm not going anywhere Andros. I promise."
