I watched the documentary It Might Get Loud today. This film interviewed three guitarists: Jimmy Page, The Edge and Jack White. I'm not much of a fan of U2 mainly because Bono is such a douche, but I did enjoy learning about The Edge and his history and innovations. I couldn't figure out why Jack White was in the film though. It's fitting that my last night in the squirrel nursery this season coincided with the last day of Squirrel Awareness Week. There were only 3 baby squirrels in the nursery who needed to be formula-fed so that went pretty quickly. We had one older squirrel in there who tore my heart out. There must be some sort of rule that a male musician cannot play the blues unless he's wearing a hat.  I stopped by the Coffee Grounds after squirrelling this evening and walked right into some sort of blues competition.  The music was rather good - it was mostly old-school blues, not that Jonny Lang-esque crap that passes for blues these days.   ( Read more... )
