I think weird things when walking

Winter or summer, I live in skirts. I never wear any form of trousers, except some tracksuit pants that are strictly for bumming around the house or exercise.

Today I was required to volunteer in the church's Op Shop for the morning, and I wore my favourite (very long) purple skirt. It's either stretched around the waist or I've lost weight (I'm guessing the former as none of my other skirts are like it), and tends to try and fall further down on my hips than is comfortable, exposing midrift that I really shouldn't expose with my figure.

I had some errands that absolutely had to be run today on my way home, so I couldn't get a lift with anyone, despite the very wet ground (although it has stopped raining).

My skirt is now a deeper shade of purple for about 10cm above the hemline. And all I could think as I walked, hiking it up above my ankles, was of Elizabeth Bennett. Mine was only water, but I kept thinking "You won't be fit to be seen!" and "I'll be fit to see Jasper, who is the only one home!"

<-- strange
