For lo! I have seen a copy of Harry Potter & the Half-Blood Prince that has fallen off the back of a truck, and it is good. I bring you from the closing pages:
Voldemort loomed over Harry, the spectre who had haunted his nightmares for six years, wand at the ready to perform the Avada Kedavra that would bring the end to Harry's short life. But then he lowered his wand.
He was about to monologue.
"Dumbledore never told you what happened to your father," Voldemort told Harry.
"He told me enough!" Harry cried out, fretting that his wand was so far out of reach. "He told me you killed him!"
Voldemort laughed. "No, Harry," he replied, throwing back the hood of his cloak to reveal a familiar pair of glasses. "I am your father."
"NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!" Harry let loose the agony in his soul.
("Isn't that my line?" Voldemort asked a nearby Death Eater.)
I have thoughts that amuse myself more than anyone else when I'm walking.
