Fables, Harry and LotR -- what else can a girl want?
Since Sin City is finally being released here on Thursday, Empire has reviewed it and has a big ten-page spread on the film. They also list "comic books that should be films"... including Fables, which a number of you lot are fans of.Fables
High-concept and utterly brilliant story by Bill Willingham about a New York community with a difference -- they're all refugees from fairytales, folk stories and the like, on the run from an angry war lord intent on wiping them out. It's got a high bodycount, great dialogue and a hero in Bigby Wolf (formerly Big Bad Wolf) that Russell Crowe should be moving Heaven and Earth to play.

Apparently, I'm dressing up for the HP release. The first I knew of it was when members of my family were told by the assistants in the bookstore o_O
Okay, yes, I have the Collins "HP Countdown" calender. Yes, I've converted one for days instead of weeks. Yes, I complimented them on a witch's hat they were making when I was in there the other day. Yes, I love their "make a date with Harry" t-shirts (although I'd prefer one that says "make a date with Daniel", except, y'know, I don't want to be arrested). Yes, I have purchased two copies of A Muggle's Guide to the Wizarding World from them, but I've only kept one!
But I am not dressing up for HbP. I can't even get to their bookstore on Saturday; I'm going to one that's a 15minute walk, rather than a half-hour drive, given that I don't actually drive and the only bus into town passes the only bus back home on the way in.
Apparently, though, I'm getting a reputation as a HP fan. Who knew? *g*

Series of Eowyn icons, because I spent last weekend watching all of the films -- and if you remember that I don't ever watch the theatrical versions no matter what, you'd realise what an endevour that is.
