In Today's News, Non-Religious Turmoil Escalates.

15,000 atheists in London rioted after a blank sheet of paper was found on a cartoonist's desk...

In other news, Watching Sasha Cohen last night reaffirmed what Olympic cold-chills feel like to me. I haven't followed figure skating like I used to. Actually, I hadn't seen Sasha Cohen in action, at all until I saw her on Project Runway.

I am an Olympics junkie in moderation. Always have been. Always will be.

Stayed up late last night holding my breath as I watched her skate. She was artistry in motion. At the end of her short program, I exhaled. She is the first American figure skater in my lifetime, that had I not known she was American, I would have assumed she was Russian, or from an old school Eastern Block Country. Her combined level of artistry, fluid lines, interpretation, and inherent class, is most often lost on American skaters.

She rocked the house. She reminded me of a young Katarina Witt performing Carmen, with her opening facial engagement of the crowd.

It would seem that Sasha slayed some of her demons last night. I hope she continues on her path of redemption. She does have the entire package, and she finally actualized it in the short program. If she can deliver tomorrow night as she did last night, the demons shall be ousted and the world will be her oyster.

I love Irina Slutskaya though. She was a baby when I first saw her skate. She's an athletic powerhouse of youthful energy that is contagious. She's is living with some grown up circumstances with her mum, and I can't help but wish her, the best skate ever.

OK, I am now dismissing this Dick Button ghost I have been channeling.
