Things that are not Fun

1) Tendonitis.  Typing with one hand is difficult and annoying. Plus I have another hand that aches and twinges even with a brace on. I can't  pick up my son easily and diaper changes are becoming a disaster.  Luckily I've had Jake helping me out all weekend.  Which brings me to ( Read more... )

1. YUCK. If I thought a foot is hard, a hand is worse. Geez. What are you going to do without Jake helping you? Do you have family or friends nearby who could help? Are you taking anything to help you recover ( ... )

Lol @ Quintyuck!
We are pretty much on our own here: our family mostly lives in NY which is 8 hours away. No rest for the wicked, I'm afraid! It shouldn't be too terribly bad, it just won't be as easy as I'm accustomed to. I think parenting will be so much easier when Jake is done for the summer.

I have a wrist brace and am taking ibuprofen several times per day for the tendonitis. The brace is really helping me to not aggravate it and keeping the pain to a minimum. I'm going to keep on this treatment course for the next week or so as unfortunately I'm between doctors and they probably wouldn't recommend anything different.

Thanks for being so supportive after my whining post :) It's really not as bad as I wrote, I was just feeling sorry for myself.

that Masters program sounds intense and like it would be impossible to be anything but stressed out by it. i know how hard it is to be the spouse to that kind of routine, so hang in there! what's the degree?
my hot sweaty baby also has a cold, so add a constant stream of snot and coughing to our mix. poor lil fellas!

It's a Masters in Music Education and it is billed as an intensive summers-only program for educators with full time school year jobs. This way, Jake can keep his job without having to go part-time or take night courses and the degree is devoted to Music Ed instead of just Music or Performance or something.
He is really stressed (understandably!) but I think some of it was just fear of the unknown. UM handles things differently than his undergrad so there's going to be an adjustment period.

Hope Ollie feels better soon, hot weather + snotty cold = no fun :(
