Things that are not Fun
1) Tendonitis. Typing with one hand is difficult and annoying. Plus I have another hand that aches and twinges even with a brace on. I can't pick up my son easily and diaper changes are becoming a disaster. Luckily I've had Jake helping me out all weekend. Which brings me to...
2) Single parenting. Jake starts graduate school tomorrow (!) and during the first week he will be in class from 8 am til 730 pm. We've figured out a carpool and daycare schedule, but it's going to be a lot of one-handed mama doing all the parenting for the next 5 weeks. I'm not looking forward to it.
3) Grumpy Jakes. This intensive-master's-degree-in-3-summers program is going to be a hella lot of work and I don't think Jake quite anticipated the scope and magnitude. I'm nervous he's going to be overworked and overstressed and not a fun boy to be around. Another thing that's just not fun.
4) Whinging, teething babies who are hot and sweaty. It's been super hot and muggy here lately and Ben has been nearly inconsolable. He's uncomfortable and sweaty and we can see 2 teeth just about to break through... Poor sweet baby.
5) Water softeners that run out of salt so that the water becomes rust-filled and turns white laundry orange colored. Yup, that sums up my morning.
Other than that, of course, life is swell!
