My partner came across this article about taxing food distributors for how many miles they travel
to bring food from farmer to consumer. The intent is to encourage people to eat locally grown food.

I found one assertion in the article really interesting - the part about how climate change will
cause a worldwide recession within a decade.

Reporters Without Borders ranks nations for their freedom of the press.  The United States has slipped in ranking almost each year without fail.  The trendline is obvious.  The press is losing its freedom to report on government abuses.

The New Jersey Supreme Court ruled today that same-gender couples have the same right to marry as different-gender couples.

Last week, Congress passed the Military Commissions Act of 2006.  The right of US citizens died when this bill was passed.
