Eeteuk was brushing his teeth, half-asleep, and entirely off his guard, a fault he'd never truly recover from, he was sure of that, which was likely some cosmic joke against him. It was at that moment that Heechul walked by, clinging to Hankyung, and talking about things that Eeteuk honestly didn't care about until he heard Kangin's name mentioned and really, it was only right that he listen in. What if someone was in trouble but afraid to talk to him about it? Eeteuk needed to know the ins and outs of everyone's everyday activities and lives. He most certainly was not spying.
"He's been so gooey lately, it's gross," said Heechul, draping himself over Hankyung in a way that forced Hankyung to practically drag him all the way into the kitchen. Eeteuk had to press himself closer to the door without fully stepping out into the hallway to still hear them clearly. "He's like schoolboy in love, but without any of the same charm. Someone should put a stop to it and--"
"What are you doing?" Kangin asked. He stared at Eeteuk like one of them was behaving like a nutcase, and it wasn't him.
"Nothing," Eeteuk said around his toothbrush.
Kangin smiled and tugged at the ends of Eeteuk's unbrushed and decidedly messy hair. "If you say so."

"I heard from Hankyung who heard it from Heechul that it's been going on since they were in school!" Donghae nearly smacked Shiwon in the face in his excitement to tell the latest gossip he'd heard. "I didn't think they'd even known each other in school, but I think if it's been going on that long, then it's probably true love. Don't you think so?"
Siwon blinked and nodded, in a way that was clear to Eeteuk that he had about as much idea of what Donghae was talking about as he did. Eeteuk stood a few feet away, changing into his performance clothes and honestly not listening at all, he was just able to hear them since them were so close. Really, that was how he would tell it it asked.
Donghae grinned, happy that someone agreed with him, and continued. "Hankyung said that Heechul said that Kangin and--"
"You buttoned your shirt wrong," Kangin said, pulling Eeteuk from the conversation he wasn't really a part of.
"Oh." Eeteuk looked down to see that his shirt was somewhat lopsided and, on further inspection, wasn't even his.
Kangin laughed, maybe a little too loudly, Eeteuk thought, because it wasn't his fault that Kangin and someone were doing something and Eeteuk didn't know about it and had to hear it from everyone else and that that was distracting him from things that were obviously of more importance. Unless Kangin and this secret someone decided to run away together and then it would be Eeteuk's problem.
"You cause a lot of problems," he said, when Kangin handed him the right shirt.
"I like to think of myself as helpful," Kangin responded. "I'm always here when you need me, right?"
Eeteuk rolled his eyes.

Eeteuk yawned and stretched his arms above his head. It had been a long day and he was tired and only one more thing to do before he could finally go home, crawl into bed, and sleep.
"No," Eunhyuk said into his phone. "Shiwon said that... no, Kangin wants them to have babies or something."
Eeteuk snapped his head to the side to look at Eunhyuk in horror as he spoke with someone on the phone.
"Right, that's what he heard from Donghae," Eunhyuk continued. "Apparently it's been going on for a really long time. What? No, no, he hasn't said...yeah, babies. A family out in the country. What? Oh, I'll ask--"
Eeteuk's phone beeped as he received a text message from Kangin.
Teukie~! Let's watch a movie together tonight? I'll bring food. ^-^
Eeteuk didn't know how to respond since he'd only just learned of what sounded like Kangin's secret family out in the country where he had kids and maybe a dog, Eeteuk couldn't be sure. And wasn't that just so selfish of Kangin. They had busy schedules and long work hours, and yet Kangin still managed to have a love of his life since childhood that Eeteuk had never heard of before. There was no way a wife and children would be good for their image and Eeteuk would have to talk to Kangin about that as soon as he could.
Stupid Kangin, he thought. sure! I'll pick the movie this time~! he texted back.

"I heard that they're planning to run away together," Sungmin said to Ryeowook. It was the very first thing Eeteuk heard when he finally walked in the door of their apartment that night.
"But what about us?" Ryeowook asked, sounded very much distraught over they idea.
Sungmin looked thoughtful for a moment. "They'll come back. You know how impulsive Kangin can be, but--"
Eeteuk stormed over to the sofa where Kangin was quietly talking with Shindong, take-out boxes littered around there feet.
"We saved you some," Kangin said, looking up at Eeteuk and smiling, then frowning slightly when Eeteuk tried, yet ultimately failed, to pull him up and drag him off to another room.
"Do you mind?" Eeteuk asked.
Kangin blinked in confusion for a moment, before he stood up and followed Eeteuk over to his bedroom. Eeteuk closed the door softly and turned to face Kangin. "You have a secret family you didn't tell me about!" he accused.
"What?" asked Kangin. "No one told me about it, either."
"And you and the love of your life are going to run away together!" Eeteuk pressed.
"I'm not running away with anyone," Kangin said calmly, though he looked slightly worried for Eeteuk's own mental health.
"But you've loved her since you were children!"
Kangin sat down on the edge of Eeteuk's bed. "I don't understand what you are talking about."
Eeteuk sat down next to him. "Everyone has been talking about you and--"
"You. Us. Heechul found out that I like. I mean." Kangin shrugged, then wrapped and arm around Eeteuk's shoulders, pulling him close.
"Oh," Eeteuk said, resting his head against Kangin's chest. "Oh. That makes more sense."
