I'm gonna put some clean gloves on track tonight. I'm trying to conjure up a fire.

I had a busy work night, last night, with all of the bad weather. It was pretty tame until the storm got really bad and all of the lightning strikes began. We were working fires in almost every part of the city. If you saw the live footage on the news, downtown with all of the sparks shooting into the air, that's where I was. I really feel bad about skipping my cousin's wedding, but I'm stoked about getting my finances back in the black. I cut some grass for quick cash the other day, and then I caught up with that guy who owed me $100. I'm driving the pumper today. I hate doing that even though it's a little more money. Whenever a sergeant is on leave or off sick, someone has to be detailed into his spot and often that person is a firefighter (me), rather than another sergeant.
