Why is a man always accused of being vain when he is seemingly overly concerned with his appearance? At this current stage in the metrosexual revolution, one would think that male talk of what was once primarily a feminine obsession would finally lose its stigma. When does homosexuality end and metrosexuality begin? Can a guy not wax on about his look without someone going "You vain bastard" or more simply "Fag..."?
And with that, I shall continue. My hair has been the source of conundrums for as long as I can remember. With parties nagging at me for the longest of times to to finally change my decade old hairstyle, the flop, in favour of a short more "with it" hair cut. Which I have done, and now some are saying to go back. One just can't win... now normally this wouldn't fuss me so much, but with a wedding looming on the horizon and the chance to immortalise the moment that is but once in a lifetime, I want to look good baby.
So I'm currently torn as to whether to grow out my hair back to its orignal flop status or maintain its the shortish look of which I have now. I've begun the long arduous task of growing it back and am currently stuck in that limbo between short and long, where it just looks terrible.
Now its my wedding shoot and I feel every right to stress over my looks without the insinuation from others that I must obviously enjoy an ass picnic. Which for the record I don't, to clarify that point. I love a good kransky, chorizo, or cocktail frankfurt even. But they are not metaphors and I mean them literally. Really.
Flop
-----
Pros: The flop isn't as common and I won't really look like every other John Wong on the street. Requirement for far less product.
Cons: Look like a relic from bad 90s HK Television. Extremely bad helmet hair when riding.
Short
-------
Pros: Easier to style. Cooler in summer, no hair in my eyes when I play sports.
Cons: Much more regular haircuts needed (damn thick asian hair that grows our sideways). Product leaves hair feeling icky. Unable to go to bed without washing product from hair.
So conundrums conundrums...
