Me: [calling a student by name, asks her to sit down]
Her: How do you know my name?!?!?!
Me: Super-Secret Teacher Powers.
Her: o_O!?!?
Me: ...and also I can hear everyone else yelling it at you.

Random Admin Lady: How's it going?
Me: Fine.
RAL: I keep hearing good things about you!
Me: ...uhoh.
RAL: No, really!

Student: Miss [name]'s a bitch. I told Ms. [admin] we should fire her. There's lots of people who could do her job, like Mrs. [name] or the new sub everybody likes. Do you want her job?
Me: ...what does she teach?
Student: Gym.
...and, on that note, I'm going to go get ready for Interview #2, and also keep calling back the guy who called me yesterday from one of the little charter school's that's expanding up into the upper grades next fall (whee, designing curricula!)
