Yesturday, April 6th, had to be one of the best days in awhile. First of all, I applied to work at the Marriott downtown about a month ago. Last week, they called me back and set up an interview for Thursday at 12:30. I went (and got lost) and talked to both the sous chef and the excutive chef, and thought the interview went rather well. :) Chef said he had two more interviews that day, and three more yesturday and that they would give me a call and tell me either way what was going on. I got a call yesturday at just about the same time I went for the interview and got the job!!!! I'm going to be doing prep work for the banquets that they hold. I am SO excited!!!! I have to call him Monday to get the paperwork for the drug test and such and then we will make a starting date from there........
Last year at my daughter's school, I signed up to be chairperson for Teacher Appreciation Week. Then at the last minute (damn near, anyway) they kicked me off of the position because I wasn't registered with the PTA, or I wasn't a member, I should say. So this year I registered and have been volunteering for different events and such. I got a call yesturday from one of the VP's and she wanted to know if I would like to take it over this year. Apparently the guy who signed up to do it backed out. So I get to meet Monday or Tuesday with her and to go over my ideas that I had from last year. And yes, I still have all the info I accumulated from last year, so this should be kinda easy to put together.
Then at the Farmer, when I went back to work I told them that I wanted to work nights to be with my daughters during the day. Well, they made the schedules and at first I was on the cashier schedule, working Easter and 20 hours. Then they changed it - I'm working nightcrew and 40 hours!! What a way to leave that place!!!
Ok, I'm going to go do more brainstorming for Teacher Appreciation Week!!
