Random thoughts about common bashing in AOS-wank posts:

  1. enjoying casual sex and not remembering the name of someone who’s probably been a one-night-stand ≠ be sexist.
If men in real life were "sexist” like Pine!Kirk, our world would be way better for us women.
  2. not turning when a lady asks you to so she can get changed ≠ be sexist. it means be a guy who thinks with his dick instead of the brain, but that’s all.
  3. putting your dirty paws on a girl’s boobies when you’re drunk and getting punched ≠ be sexist. You are just being a drunk douche.
  4. AOS!Spock can’t be OOC because what you see on the screen is HIM, canon and all. He’s his own character, not an already existing and developed character placed in another story/au like we fic writers do.
  5. AOS!Spock ≠ TOS!Spock
  6. AOS!Spock “Khaaaaaaaaaaaaaaan” moment is OOC until it finally hits you that AOS!Spock is not TOS!Spock and never will, never. The loss of his mother (and the following confrontation with his father), not to mention whatever different experiences he might have had before Vulcan’s destruction, have changed him. He’s younger, had different experiences (hell, he even had/has a girlfriend!!) and had a different career in Starfleet, Hence, different Spock.
  7. If you take TOS!Spock and make him act like Tony Stark, that’s OOCness. If you take AOS!Spock and turn him into the standard yaoi uke, that’s OOCness. But you can’t compare AOS!Spock with TOS!Spock and cry “OOC” whenever AOS acts/reacts differently than his counterpart, because Spock’s life is different at least since the events of Star Trek 2009 (gods know if his childhood has been the same as TOS, or if discovering how the Romulans look 20 years before TOS has changed something within the Federation and Vulcan acceptance. For all we know, seeing that Romulans looked like Vulcans might have stirred racism against Vulcans and Vulcans have started to hate Humans in return, hence the scene between Spock and the other children).
Of pre-TOS life of TOS!Spock we know little, so we can’t judge. we just know that he served under Pike ten years before meeting Kirk, who is far more quiet and self-confident than the be-cocky-to-mask-my-insecurity-and-my-needing-some-experience-before-be-thrown-on-the-chair!Kirk. So, hum, Pinto!Spock and Nimoy!Spock? Totally different people. You can like one and not the other, but let’s stop comparing.
  8. Allowing Uhura to be vocal about her displeasure about you being a selfish dick in a vulcano ≠ be trapped in an emotional abusive relationship.
