WHAT is going on with the Friends' page?!

I don't like this.  I don't like the "friends' feed" thing LJ has going on now.  It's unfamiliar, and reminds me too much of Facebook, which I avoid on principle anyway and should just de-activate it.

I pay for my LiveJournal to look a certain way, and if my friends' page can't look like my customized LiveJournal, then I will permanently jump ship to DreamWidth.
