Strength Training - Bear Wearing Out

May 14, 2013 17:41

The Bear was out for a few days, off visiting Baby Bear Brother … only eating nuts and berries (they’re vegetarians … although, from time to time, they eat salmon … this wasn’t one of those times …) in the Boston area. Needless to say, the Bear lost a few pounds, which could be considered a good thing, but also lacked the corresponding energy to go with it.

Ok, enough about me.

Jumping jacks, go. Side lunges, go. Arm circles, forward, go. Arm circles, backward, go. Go get your weights. Jaynie and Russkaya, 10s. Bear, 12.5s. Might have been a little much for the Bear.

Deadlifts (bend your knees, like a squat almost). Then bent over rows. Then jumping jacks (no weights). Then pick up the weights, shoulder presses. Then drop one weight, hold other in both hands overhead, triceps extensions. Repeat entire circuit. Relax.

Straight leg deadlifts. Slightly bent over bicep curls. Drop the weights, lateral hops. Pick up one weight, hold overhead, calf raises. Then something else. Repeat entire circuit. Relax.

Get a mat. Get on your back, with your weights. Legs straight up in the air, neutral grip chest presses (I think that’s what they’re called). Reverse planks (Crab, I know you’re sorry you missed these … and BTW, Jaynie was the star of doing them. Russkaya and the Bear failed …). Sit up, get one weight, legs out in front, weight held overhead, tricep extensions. Front planks on hands, alternate bringing in knees slowly and stay low. Repeat whole circuit, except this time, on the front planks, go out to the side (kind of like a spiderman thing).

Stretches, cool down.

I’m sure I forgot a few things, but I’m in the ballpark.

The Bear

PS reason Bear was shaky (and during our cool down, my triceps and biceps were shaking ... maybe 12.5s are too much for me?) was little food for past few days ... weird.
