BEAR NOTE: I wrote this following our workout last Thursday. The website was down, and I was unable to post, so I'm doing it now, since I had already written my post. We also had a workout ... with Chris ... on Friday. I was so pressed for time on Friday, I was unable to write about it. I'm trying to make up for all this bad behavior today.
Boo-hoo. Words we never like to see … Luckily, four of us braved it without him … I was the timer, The Crab read the instructions, Russkaya and Dolores jumped in enthusiastically to do what was required.
Since we’re going off of a Thursday workout he gave us a year ago, it’s cheating, in that I have the list of stuff we did. I will present … with a little color commentary. All exercises, 60 seconds.
Jumping jacks. Alternating side lunges. Push presses (0 to 7.5 lb weights … hallelujah … my arms were not the same after Tuesday’s workout, when I used 12.5s and my arms about fell off, then throbbed in pain later on, so I had to take to wine as a restorative …). Cross countries (the Crab’s favorites … she positively bounces on them). Rest 2 minutes.
Front planks. Bicycles (in the interests of full disclosure, we forgot these the first time around, but caught ‘em on the repeat). Bird dogs. Back extensions. Rest 2 minutes, then repeat both circuits, without rest in between (Crab is a slave driver, also that’s what she thought the instructions meant … I’m not so sure, but I was just the timer).
Jumping jacks. Reverse lunges with rotations (no weights). V-ups. Side planks (30 seconds each side). Squat jacks (again with the full disclosure, Bear did not do a full minute … more like 30 seconds, the whined a bit, then a few more, then more whining, I think you get the theme of my activities at that point). Lateral hops. Alternate leg raises. Hip thrusts.
Boom, you’re done. Boom, good thing, since I have no intention of doing more.
The (now showered, post workout) Bear
Conversation topics: potatoes (of course), films, what constitutes a hip thrust (I know, can you believe it?) - and of course, my personal favorite, choir stories … also stress levels and other stuff. Also the complete non-alignment of our lunch schedules. Hope Chris is back tomorrow.
