Today, we started with Jaynie, Dolores and the Bear. Eventually, the Crab showed up. Finally Russkaya showed up. Aside: to be fair, both had work commitments that held them up … otherwise, we have no doubt they would have been on time. Then Dolores felt poorly, so she left early. Weird coming and going day. Plus there were like 8,000 people in the gym. And it’s not that big a place, so 8,000 pretty much crams it all up.
Strength day is usually a decent one for me. But my left shoulder has been giving me a few problems (in Chris’ words, it’s tight … loosen it up … ya think?).
Squats, go. Alternating side lunges, go. Arm circles, forward. Then backward. Go get your weights - 12.5s for me, 10s for Jaynie and light weights for Dolores.
Dead lifts/squats, go. Drop one weight, single arm bent over rows (lots of them). Then do them on other arm. Drop other weight, front planks on hands. Get up, get medicine ball, hold in front, squat to hear floor, then stand and extend and rotate overhead to right, next time to left. Keep alternating. Stand on left leg, pick up one weight, hold it in both hands, bend over to touch toes, back leg extended. Then switch to right leg. I feel like we did something else in this circuit, but I can’t think what. Repeat whole thing. Relax.
Get a mat (here comes the core focus part).
Get on your backs, legs in the air, weights in both hands raised, chest flies. Hold the weights in the air, right leg down to floor and lift back up (guess they might be called leg lifts). After right leg falls off, do same thing with left leg. Drop one weight, hold other in both hands, arm extensions back over your head (legs still raised in the air? Can’t remember). Hold weight in air, hip thrusts. Now get up, do that medicine ball thing again? Don’t really remember. Bet we did more stuff ... but that's like icing on the cake, right?
Stretch, cool down.
We need to schedule a lunch when we can all go. Hope Dolores is feeling better. Chris is on schedule (so he says) as he actively trains to be in tip top shape for whatever pool party Jaynie will be having at her beach place soon. Today he was all achy and, for him, a little whiny … until he got to trash Tolle and TC and a few others, and show his "guns", etc. Then life started getting a little better.
The Bear
PS, just saw that in Alaska, they put animal cams on some black and brown bears to see what bears really do in the wild … but apparently pizza is involved, that’s all I’ll say … guess I need to go to the wilds of Alaska to get some pizza …
