[Adler paced back and forth in front of the door, waiting. He had sent Leif out with Alyssa earlier in the day, giving her strict orders to keep him busy and then get him ready for the dinner so that Adler could set up the house. He gave Freja and Magnus a quarantined part of the house, leaving toys and bones and a multitude of pillows and animal beds for them to keep busy with and out of the way. After that he made dinner, got dressed, and made sure everything looked perfect, he realized he had way too much time to sit and wait, so of course, he got nervous and started pacing.
