Maya is doing ok. Last night, I came home and she was still awake, again. This time, she asked for a picture of Putz. So we printed out this one that I took of him on Saturday before we took Shadow to the vet:

Picture post! At Maya's school, once a month they have a party for all the kids who have a birthday that month. Maya and her friend, Kiishi, were the February kids. They are just one day apart, Maya being February 8th and Kiishi being February 7th. They were too excited to have their birthdays so close together. Kiishi's mom and I collaborated ( Read more... )

Maya's school had the traditional story of Jesus' birth in the manger. Kindergarten to 2nd grade did this together. Maya was a sheep in the play. She never complained about the part until she saw the costume she had to wear:

Nadia had her first Taekwondo class today. Her school has them for the next ten weeks on Tuesday afternoons. Luckily, I was able to change my work schedule to allow me to take her to this. And Maya's school has Sports Club on the same day and it works out perfectly because Nadia's class is from 2:30pm to 3:30pm, and Maya's Sports Club is from 3: ( Read more... )

Yesterday was just weird. Our flight got in at about 5am. And by the time we got home, it was around 7am. And the girls were awake almost the whole day. Nadia took a short nap with me in the mid-afternoon, but Maya stayed up the whole day. Tomorrow, at Maya's school, it's International Day. All the classes put on a show, sing some international songs and are asked to wear their home country's native clothes. Since Maya would have to wear either Native American clothes (which we do not have) or t-shirt and jeans (which she wears a lot anyway), she's representing the other half of ( Read more... )
