My poor mom
So my mom hurt her neck a while back at work and a few weeks ago the doctor noticed something in her neck and they weren't sure what is was. He said he didn't "think" is was cancer but it looked like the bone was bleeding? I am not sure what all that meant but she said that the doctor wanted to do some test to find out what actually was wrong with her neck. So last Thursday she went in for the test, they had to inject some fluid into her back and have it go all the way to her brain so that they could look for whatever it is they were looking for in her neck. The doctor told her to make sure that she stay lying down for the evening and that if when she got up the next day she had a headache to go straight back to bed and lay down because that meant that she wasn't healing correctly and to call them. So Friday morning she got up and had a MAJOR headache and backache. She couldn't move so she called the doctor and they told her to just stay in bed that she needed more time to heal. Well by Sunday she was still in major pain so she called her main doctor since the number for the doctor that did the test was only good Monday-Friday and they said to go in the next morning so that they could see what was wrong. Monday my mom went into the doctor to find out that she is leaking spinal fluid and that they would need to inject blood back into her spine to try and stop the leak. Normally that should instantly stop the headache but unfortunately for my mom it didnt, she still felt the same. Today she talked to her doctor again and they said that the earliest she can come in again is Friday (originally they said today but then changed their mind) to have blood put back in again. Since this all started as a work related injury she called workman's comp today and the lady was like "oh yea your the lady that the doctor screwed up and injected too far into your spine while doing the test"!!! No wonder why my mom was not healing up like she should, the doctor screwed up and then didn't have the nerve to tell her that they did. My poor mom is still in so much pain and now all she can do is wait until Friday to have more blood injected into her spine again and hope that it works this time. UGH I am so mad at that doctor right now for not telling her that they screwed up and worried for my mom since she is still leaking spinal fluid.
