It. Is. Gorgeous here today. I can't get over it. I was out earlier this afternoon doing errands and I just love this weather. According to the temperature gauge in my car, it was 56 degrees out. I love it. I had the sunroof open too. Have I mentioned that I love having it in my car? :D Today's actually the first day since I think September or October that I haven't gotten up and put the heat on in the house. I even have the windows in the living room and kitchen open to let the fresh air in, along with my bedroom window. Spring is definitely in the air - even when it's not so warm out, the sun is so strong this time of year that it just feels warm. It reminds me of my college days, when we'd all go lay outside on the quad and get sun. Or study, whichever. I got all excited that I bought a skirt at Old Navy and I can't wait to wear it. It's dressy enough that I can wear it with a cardigan and flats to work, and casual enough that I can wear it with flip flops and a graphic t or a tank top during the summer on the weekends. Plus it'll be great to have this summer in Atlanta. Did I mention I'm going? I was supposed to go in April for a week, but we've pushed it back to the end of August. It'll be hot and humid and gross, but I don't care. I'll be able to hang out with Erin. And I miss that girl. I'm HOPING that I'll see her before then for Jimmy's album release party in NYC, which is supposed to be coming up soon. But we still don't have a release date on the album, so who knows. I'll be really pissed if its the week that I'm in Atlanta. I suppose we'll see.
Hmm, what else. I'm finally over being sick. I had whatever the hell has been going around this week - and I felt the worse on Monday. Tired, achy, feverish, stuffy, etc, but I dragged my ass to work because I had dinner plans that night and in my brain, if I don't go to work because I'm sick, I don't get to do the fun stuff after work. Since I don't get together with Jeryl and Meredith too often, I take my days when I can get them. Surprisingly, I felt better after I had eaten something substantial and I woke up Tuesday morning feeling better - but with just a stuffy nose and a cough. Which have haunted me all week and finally, FINALLY, I woke up this morning feeling back to 100%. I still have a tad of a sniffle, but I don't feel nearly as miserable as I did earlier in the week. Which is good because I haven't wanted to do shit when I got home from work. My roommate is gone this weekend - he went home to CA to see his family so I've got the apartment to myself. Which is nice. I was planning to be lazy and miserableon my couch this weekend - but I just can't since its so nice and such.
This past Thursday was the rescheduled Jason Castro event at WXLO in Worcester. A quick recap - I had won tickets to the music lounge show back in January when Jason was doing a concert in Boston, but it was canceled because he was sick. It was rescheduled for this past Thursday, and I'm so glad I was feeling well enough to go. It was a lot of fun - Jason sang 4 or 5 songs including Hallelujah, which is going to be on his upcoming album, and did a meet and greet with us all. It was very intimate, only about 50 people there, max. I actually don't even think that there were that many. It only lasted about 45 minutes and I was able to get out of Worcester before 5pm rush hour traffic hit, which was great. Got home early and just vegged and took advantage of the fact I had an apartment to myself. I have pictures on facebook from it, but I'll share a few here too at the end.
I know I've been a bit MIA lately - but have been reading everyone. I've felt like there's not a whole lot going on in my life worth writing about and I actually tried to write a couple of weeks ago but felt it was forced, so I deleted it. Now that spring is here and there are some fun upcoming things coming up, I should be able to be updating more. And I still haven't written my Jimmy recap yet. I started it, then got distracted, and haven't finished it yet. Hopefully, I'll get to that soon too. The NCAA March Madness tournament is starting in a couple of weeks, which I'm excited about and then....RED SOX SEASON! Opening day is...I believe the 6th of April - its early this year. Its before my birthday. Speaking of my birthday, I haven't decided what I'm doing for it yet - anyone got any suggestions? Next year is my 30th, but I want to do something fun this year too. I'm entertaining the idea of maybe going to NYC to hang out for the weekend, but I don't know. I keep hoping Jimmy will announce a show that weekend. Because that'd be an awesome birthday gift.
Ok, pictures! For the most part, I didn't use flash because I tend to hate the way it looks, especially in concert pictures. So there was enough light that I just played with it without flash.
And me, with Jason:
Hope everyone's enjoying their weekend!
