ENnie Body Out There
To the subset of my readership that just flashed back onto Pink Floyd's The Wall (and the somewhat smaller subset that really, really flashed back onto Pink Floyd's The Wall), my apologies.
But it's ENnie Award voting time again, and this year, gratifyingly for us both, you can vote for me seven times in four categories.
Best Setting: The Occult Investigator's Guide to London (known elsewhere as The Book of the Smoke) for which I provided a few thousand words of dark hintings, cypher manuscripts, and Charles Fort quotes to supplement Paula Dempsey's lovely arcane travelogue. Technically, Arthur Machen or Christopher Wren deserve the ENnie for the "best setting," said setting being occult London, but Paula and I are happy to accept on their behalf.
Best Supplement: GURPS Horror, Fourth Edition. By now, I've written enough words, and sweated enough blood, in two editions of GURPS Horror to consider the book essentially mine, despite the yeoman labors of Scott Haring and J.M. Caparula on the earlier versions.
Best Writing: I'm triply nominated here. In descending order of my contributions to the collaboration in question, I'm up for GURPS Horror, Fourth Edition (probably 70% of the text), The Occult Investigator's Guide to London (possibly 20% of the text), and Stealing Cthulhu (maybe 5% of the text, in the form of footnotes pedantically arguing or excitedly amplifying Graham Walmsley's 85% of the text, itself dedicated to stealing 100% of Lovecraft's text, and rightly so). So vote howsoever you will. Since you can vote for more than one product in a category, 1-2-3 sounds about right.
Product of the Year: A vote for either GURPS Horror, Fourth Edition or Stealing Cthulhu, as discussed above, counts as a vote for me. A vote for both of them counts as two votes for me, if you want to collect the whole set.
So go right on over to the ENnies ballot page and vote for me, won't you? And surely your parents, office-mates, knitting circle, Olympic team, friends with easily-borrowed iPads, or manservants would love to vote for me, too. Won't you give them that opportunity?
