5 times joon hates the way he looks
PG. Joon is so good-looking in a business where that matters so much that people often forget there's more to him than that.

"You're not really my type," Joorin confesses, bowing quickly. "I'm sorry, Changsun-oppa."
16-year-old Changsun waves off her apology hurriedly. "Please, don't worry about it!" He says, hoping he sounds airy and not like he kind of maybe wants to cry. "I hope you'll be happy, Joorin-ah." He hesitates, and before he can help himself, he's blurting out, "Just out of curiosity - you don't have to answer or anything - I just wanted to know - I mean, I could, if you wanted me to change anything - what is your type?"
Joorin fiddles with the hem of her shirt before peeking up at Changsun apologetically. "I'm sorry, oppa," she says softly. "You're a great guy. Funny and smart and attractive, but I guess - I guess I like the manly type? Oh, I'm so sorry, oppa."
"Oh," Changsun says, and swallows before shining the most brilliant smile he can manage. "I see. Thank you, Joorin-ah."

Changsun knows he's got a pretty impressive record - a few years of modeling, half a lifetime, practically, of dance lessons. When he auditions, they study his magazine pictures, barely glances at his ballet teacher's glowing recommendation.
"I could perform something for you," he offers nervously when they scrutinize him.
"No, there's no need to," they say, waving off his concerns but leaving him disappointed all the same because, dancing, now there's something Changsun knows he can do. "Welcome to J.Tune Entertainment, Changsun-sshi."

Joon shaves his head for Ninja Assassin long before MBLAQ debuts and tells himself that he doesn't care, that it doesn't matter, but when pictures from filming arise and the movie is finally released, Joon doesn't realize just how much he'd been hoping it wouldn't matter when he reads the comments fans leave him.
I'm so glad Joon-oppa regrew his hair! ^^ It looks sooo much better this way!
kekekeke Joon-oppa looks so good with long hair! Joon-oppa is my favorite because he's so good-looking kekekeke~

Mir is a big fan of Taeyeon; Joon knows this, Seungho knows this, Sanghyun knows this, Byunghee knows this, hell, even Jihoon-hyung knows this. Mir has been preparing for this radio appearance ever since they've debuted, and could barely sleep the night before, he was so excited. Mir even tries to be on his best behavior, and it's so sweet that they all refrain from telling embarrassing stories about Mir. To see Mir, who is normally so quick, so clever, so explosive, act so demurely, is both hilarious and touching.
Taeyeon approaches Joon after the radio to tell him Yoona and Tiffany can't stop talking about him, and Joon is flattered for about 5.4 seconds before Taeyeon adds, blushing, me too, and Joon can actually see Mir's face fall over Taeyeon's shoulder and it is so heartbreaking Joon wishes he'd never heard the praise at all.
"I'm sorry, Chulyong-ah," Joon tries quietly, uncomfortably, touching his shoulder. "I didn't know."
"It's fine, hyung," Mir snaps, and shoves his copy of Gee into his bag, angry, embarrassed blush tingeing his ears red. "I get it, it's okay, whatever, you're the face of this group anyway." Joon steps back, feeling like he's been slapped and Mir stops, looking ashamed. "I mean - I. Sorry, hyung," he murmurs. "You know I didn't mean that."
"Yeah," Joon replies, forcing a smile. "Yeah, I know. It's okay, magnae."

Ever since he hit puberty and his dance teacher let him start building muscle, Joon has been turning heads. It is not something he is necessarily proud of, but there it is. Even when he had a really unfortunate haircut, even when he was 17 and had no sense of style, Joon has been on the receiving end of more appreciative looks than he could ever count. After a certain point, he seems to make up for that by being more eccentric than ever.
Seungho asks him once, exasperated, "Have you just always been so weird, Changsun?" after Joon makes Mir give him a piggyback ride, making strange high-pitched sounds all the while.
"I was normal once," Joon replies, grinning, and Seungho laughs, but Joon figures, if everyone's going to be looking anyway, might as well give them a real reason to look.
