lots of drabbles!

Nov 29, 2009 19:56

HEY so this is like a post where I'm going to collect all of my drabbles from various memes (5 Times, Request a character, etc.)! Various fandoms, including DBSK, SHINee, 2PM, Big Bang, KHR, etc.

SHINee (trust me, the titles will be self-explanatory)

'My Patronus Would be Taemin!' or 5 Things That Would Happen if SHINee Went to Hogwarts
1.

At first, Key thinks that the reason for their presence at Hogwarts is so they can act as backup dancers for the Sorting Hat's song. When he breaks into a rather enthusiastic dance during the song and is magicked back into his seat by an irate Professor McGonagall, he decides that probably wasn't the case.

His second theory is that maybe they are there to add some kind of foreign, exotic, colorful flavor - God knows they need it, what with all these dreary black cloaks and whatnot.

2.

Onew is sorted into Hufflepuff, Minho into Gryffindor, Taemin into Slytherin, and Jonghyun into Gryffindor. Onew trips at least twice on his way to the Hufflepuff table and the prefects clap his back heartily, welcoming another of their kind. Taemin sits down peacefully at the Slytherin table, sparkling at everyone in a six-feet vicinity, all of whom look slightly taken aback for a moment. Slytherins don't sparkle, for God's sake. Minho sits down next to him, looking around mildly at the sneering faces of the Slytherins, who are wondering why there is a Gryffindor in their midst.

Draco Malfoy looks strangely intrigued.

3.

Key sits on the stool with the hat over his head for a good three minutes before being sorted into Slyhtherin. He bounds over to the Slytherin table, promptly elbows Blaise Zabini out of his way and starts fussing over Taemin.

4.

"Why?" Onew asks, confused. "How did that happen? Why are you two in Slytherin? Y-you're not evil, are you?" The question in his voice is suspicious, and he steps nervously away from Taemin and Key.

Key sighs loudly. "Of course not, you Hufflepuff," he says rather condescendingly. Draco Malfoy nods in approval from behind him. "The Hat actually considered putting me in Ravenclaw - ooh, I probably wouldn't have looked too bad in glasses! - but I very calmly reasoned with it until it put me with Taemin-ah."

Draco Malfoy looks even more impressed and throws his chest out a little more, sidling up to Key.

5.

Key and Professor Snape, to everyone's astonishment, get along quite smashingly.

"We understand each other on a very personal level," he tells Jonghyun, eyebrows waggling wildly, having crashed the Gryffindor common room so often that none of the Gryffindors particularly minded anymore.

Jonghyun turns rather green. "I'm sorry," he tells Key. "But I have to go throw up a little now."

Five People Key Never Fell in Love With and Why
1. Jessica is so beautiful and talented that Kibum has never felt anything but professional envy and the deepest admiration for her.

2. Sulli is possibly the cutest person Kibum has ever met, and he dotes on her enough that Jonghyun waggles his eyebrows whenever she's nearby. But when Kibum drapes a heavy arm around her, touches his cheek to hers, all he wants in return is her smile, shining like she's got the sun between her teeth.

3. When Kibum looks in the mirror, all he can see is the self-same skinny, awkward kid who will never stop growing and got lucky once. He pokes at his ribs, visible underneath his thin skin, and sighs.

4. Taemin is his favorite everything, it's true. Taemin is probably Kibum's ideal girl, if he thinks about it hard enough, but that's just it - Taemin, as cute and precious as he is, is no girl.

5. Amber is funny and sympathetic and patient and Kibum, Kibum might just have the biggest crush ever on her. But if he flips the calendar on his wall far back enough, he can still see SHINee's debut, circled in red ink, and remembers just how many years he - and Amber - still has to go.

Five Things that Never Happened to Onew (although it's really less Things that Never Happened as it is...something else idk)
1. It's not that Jinki is a bad dancer, because he's not. It's just, in relation to the rest of SHINee, maybe, he is. Taemin is the fastest learner, with Kibum just a breath behind him. Jonghyun is probably the most well-rounded of them, and Minho is able to look graceful all the time, all long limbs and quiet determination, even if he's not the dancer Taemin and Kibum are.

So sometimes when Jinki is frustrated to the point of tears and he can't help it, as much as he tries, he throws quick, sidelong looks at Kibum and Taemin, bonding over the one thing the two love more than anything, and wanting to wake up one day with - what, he doesn't know, maybe a tell-tale tingling in his feet or something, or just feeling more graceful in general, and catching on during that day's practice so quick even Taemin would look at him in admiration.

2. Taeyeon is funny and easygoing and adorable in a way that Jinki isn't, and he can't help it if he has just the tiniest crush on her. So when Taeyeon turns admiring eyes on Jonghyun after their appearance on Chin Chin and tells him she's a big fan of him, Jinki forces a smile on his face when Kibum asks him if anything's wrong, no no, nothing's wrong, Kibum-ah.

3. Jinki catches the tail-end of what the men auditioning him say as he files past them to stand back in line, bowing hurriedly and murmuring polite thank-yous.

"Great voice," one of them comments, tapping a pen on what Jinki presumes is his application. "With a little more training, he'd be fantastic."

"True," another one replies, but frowns. "But not solo artist material, definitely not. Maybe in a group?"

"Agreed," the third one confirms, nodding. "I'll put him in the rotation, then, yeah?"

4. Sometimes they all go onto their fan cafes and forums when they've had a bad day - not out of cockiness but motivation; every Taemin, hwaiting! ^^ or saranghae, Key! Cheer up, oppa! ♥♥ or I hope you get better soon, Jonghyun-oppa! TT_TT they see fuels determination to do better and better, because this is the life they've signed up for.

The little thing Jinki never tells anyone is this: as much as he appreciates seeing kekekeke Onew-oppa is so cute ^^ or keep showing your aegyo, leader! or even Onew-oppa can be both cute AND handsome! ♥♥, he hates the feeling of being patronized, even more than Taemin. When Taemin got to embrace a more 'mature' image, their fans had eaten it all up; whenever Jinki tries to be serious, their fans coo over him as if he's a little boy playing dress-up in his daddy's clothes. Whereas Minho is always praised as being 'so tall, so handsome! No wonder he was a model,' and Jonghyun and Kibum have more than just a few trainee (and noona) admirers, each and every SNSD member and CSJH-noona smiles at Jinki like he is their adorable brother or pet, and all the coordi-noonas ruffle his hair, cooing over how sweet he is.

The little thing Jinki never tells anyone is this: he is tired of not being taken seriously, and he is worried he will never be taken seriously; there is a line between being having an image on screen and then having everyone completely believe in that image off screen, and Jinki worries he's crossed it.

5. Jinki gives every performance like it is his last one, as if he may wake up the next day with no voice, or only to find out the past couple of years have all been a dream, and he is only competely-average-19-year-old Lee Jinki, waking up from the kind of dream that leaves one aching. He has never given anything but his very best, no matter how tired or sick or disappointed - in himself or otherwise.

5 times Taemin tried to convince the world of his straightness (and failed)
1.

Taemin practically kills Key for the title of 'lead dancer.'

Dancers are cool, he reasons. Really cool. And manly. Like Junsu-hyung - well okay, Junsu-hyung isn't that manly - but Yunho-hyung, Yunho-hyung is manly. And cool. And Eunhyuk-hyung is pretty manly too. Maybe not cool, but Donghae-hyung is pretty cool. Heck, Hyoyeon-noona is cool.

Basically, dancers were either cool, manly, or both. It was a win-win situation, Taemin figured.

After a few months, Taemin reads a few online forums is rather crushed to learn that Minho is the one most often called cool or manly.

Rappers, he thinks angrily. Why didn't I think of that?

2.

"So the image we have in mind for you is contemporary," they are told.

"Contemporary?" Key asks, brow furrowed. "Like...like chains and things?"

"Nice sneakers?" Jonghyun offers tentatively.

"Didn't Big Bang already do that?" Onew pipes up.

"Mm," Minho contributes.

"Or like, tight jeans and colorful clothes?" Taemin asks brightly.

There is a pause, and then -

"No, of course not - "

"That's gay, not contemporary, Taemin-ah - "

"Mm."

"Haha, so, really, like nice sneakers?"

"Um, actually," their manager breaks in cheerfully. "Actually, Taemin-sshi has the right idea."

3.

Taemin gets a girlfriend. Her name is Mina, she goes to school with him, she's pretty cute, and she dances ballet and modern.

His fans don't even care, it seems, and Key-hyung and Jonghyun-hyung touch him just as much and as inappropriately as before.

"I HAVE A GIRLFRIEND," he shouts at them one day.

"Yes..." Key says, blinking.

"Oh, wait." Jonghyun at least has the decency to look surprised. "You mean she's not just a cover-up?"

4.

The thing about their noona show that no one would really ever believe is that everything that happened was 100% exactly what happened. No scripting, no extra takes - just them and some very attractive older women.

Key and Minho are actually really that smooth, Onew is actually really that awkward, Jonghyun is actually really that charming, and Taemin - Taemin was actually really more interested in that swing than he was in that noona.

5.

Taemin decides he is going to build up a manly image, one that many girls will swoon over.

Management decides to give him a haircut and a new wardrobe - specifically a very pink one.

Key decides he might like boys as well as girls (not that it came as much of a shock to anyone) and also decides to practice showing his affections to Taemin, of all people. On stage.

Taemin decides he is going to kill everyone.

the one where TOP is beautiful
Seunghyun always seems so surprised that anyone should ever honestly want him, even after years of fame and screaming girls and being told otherwise. Jiyong finds it both endearing and surprising that Seunghyun's first reaction is to shy away and the second to blush whenever situation or script calls for them to be so close he could feel his breath on his cheek.

"Do you honestly not know?" He asks him one day, one hand braced on the door frame and the other on his hip.

"Not know what?" Seunghyun asks blankly, looking up from the book in his hands.

Jiyong shrugs. "You know. That you're beautiful." He says this matter-of-factly, not malice but pure curiosity in his voice.

Seunghyun jerks, then blushes. "What do you mean?" He asks stiffly. "That's ridiculous. Jiyong."

"No," Jiyong says, furrowing his brow. "You're ridiculous." He keeps moving forward until he is at Seunghyun's side, and kneels, until he is eye-level with Seunghyun.

"No," Seunghyun insists. "Please stop," he adds, eying Jiyong's slowly approaching hand warily.

Jiyong's hand pauses, and then continues it's determined trek to Seunghyun's face. He smooths a careful thumb over the ridge of Seunghyun's nose, touches the ends of Seunghyun's eyelashes, trails warm fingers along the line of his jaw.

"Nope," Jiyong says, breath hitching against his will. "Beautiful."

5 times Jin said 'I love you' and meant it
1. Jin's mother drives him to his first day of dance practice and spends the whole trip reassuring him.

"You're going to be fine," she says. "Don't worry. I'm so proud of you, Jin."

They pull up in front of the building and she gives him a moment to collect himself. "You're going to be fine," she repeats, and smiles at him with so much confidence that he starts to think that maybe he will be okay after all.

"I love you, mama," he tells her gratefully. "I'll do my best!"

2. When his manager tells them they're going to debut, Jin screams.

"Oh my God," he says over and over. "Oh my God, I love you," he tells their surprised manager, who looks a bit scared of Jin's bright-eyed happiness.

3. KAT-TUN is more popular than any of them thought. However, their rosy debut days are soon replaced by late nights, overscheduling, high tempers and it's not long before they spend more time apart than together and their friendliest moments are when they're on camera.

"I'm tired of this," Jin tells Yamapi one day. "I don't want to be here anymore, I don't want to do this anymore...this isn't what I signed up for, Pi."

"You should've realized," Yamapi says softly. "Try your hardest, Jin." Yamapi's eyes are lined with tiredness and jadedness and Jin realizes - one day he will be like this, like his best friend, tired and constantly dissatisfied. Jin is scared, he can't do this, he really can't.

Right before the plane takes off, Yamapi calls him.

"Why?" Yamapi asks.

"I'm sorry," Jin says. "I'm sorry, I can't be like you." He hesitates, and then - "I'm sorry Pi. I love you, you know that right? You're my best friend. I wish I could take you with me."

When Yamapi speaks, it is soft and hesitant, almost like he wants to take it back. "Next time."

4. America is...liberating. Jin goes with the best of intentions, he swears, but soon he falls into a mindset where pleasure comes first, studying second.

Jin falls in love at least half a dozen times when he's America, and he gets his heart broken every time.

"I'm sorry," the last one says, a pretty redhead named Victoria. "It was great. It was fun. You're a great guy, Jin."

"I love you." He looks her straight in the eye when he says that, cursing his Japanese tongue for rolling the 'l.'

"Oh Jin, that's so sweet of you but - I really can't, I'm so sorry - "

"No, it's okay," he cuts in, flashing a brilliant smile. "I just wanted you to know that I mean it."

5. Recording starts almost the day Jin gets back and he feels a momentary flutter of annoyance before settling back so easily into the familiar routine that it almost scares him. It still doesn't feel real to him, in a way, and he spends his days as if he was running on autopilot.

Before long, their concert is announced and it's not until they're at their last venue, right in the middle of their last song that Jin finally comes back to reality and realizes - he missed this. He missed his bandmates, even if they don't like him too much. He missed the crowd, he missed the stage, he missed everything.

He takes the microphone from Kame during their final MC, ignoring the dirty look Kame gives him.

"I think everyone might have waited a long time for me," he says uncertainly. It's Ueda's smile and the way that Koki turns his head to hide the tears welling in his eyes and spurs Jin on. "I'm sorry for making you wait." He doesn't know who it's directed at anymore - Kame, still hard-eyed but softening; Junno, who had acted as if he'd never left when he came home; Koki, who has him in a headlock; Ueda, nodding along with a secret smile on his face; or the crowd, hundreds and thousands of people who would willingly pay money to see him perform.

"I'm home. I missed you. I love you."

5 Johnny's sub-units killed on the drawing board
1. In terms of popularity, ABC and Shoon would've been great.

In terms of business, not so much, and Johnny's is a business above all else.

2. "What the fuck," Jun says calmly. "You want me to be in a sub-group? With him?" He jabs a thumb at Jin disgustedly. "Do you want me to shoot myself? Is that it?"

3. Back when KAT-TUN, Kanjani8 and NEWS were still wee little Juniors, there was talk of putting Ryo and Ueda in one group together.

That idea was shortly discarded after a few Shounen Club episodes and very long letters of complaint from both parties involved.

4. There is talk in management to put Ohno and Chinen in a group together, banking in on what most fans viewed as an adorable relationship between a senpai and a kouhai.

The next day, two members of the board (the two who pushed for the idea most enthusiastically) are found in the Hey!Say!Jump! dressing room, forced into flamingo costumes (or perhaps Arashi's outfits for their new MV, no one was too sure) and mumbling incoherently out of fear.

Nino has an extra bounce in his step that day and the idea is very quietly scrapped.

5. Jin and Yamapi are young, hopeful, best friends.

"We only have room for one Takki and Tsubasa," they are told.

(Okay so apparently my drabbles are too much to fit in just one post... DBSK, KHR, and 2PM will be in the next one!)
