Just a couple of years ago when Kavya was in UKG, we had to read to her from her books just like her sister. Then when she came to 1st standard she started reading aloud from her books, whilst sitting next to me or Suchitra, spelling out all the difficult words. I just got a call from home, from a very breathless Kavya, who after announcing herself told me "Congratulate me!" After I congratulated her she said she had received the grades from her tests from last week. Today was the first day of school for our girls. Actually it was the 3rd day ;-), since on the 1st day we had our niece's wedding, on the 2nd it was a holiday for Sneha and so we assumed for Kavya too. Yesterday morning Suchitra told Kavya to wear her sandals instead of her shoes to school. Since it was just half a day. It turned out that her school sandals weren't there, they'd been tossed out since they stank, and also since they were no longer required since rains have stopped. Last month I had told you all about Kavya's " I am cancelled!" x-mas dance project. The teacher had told Suchitra that she dances well, and that she would have loved to have her in that dance. Anyway she was in the school Annual Day dance for her class, and that she had done very well, so much so, that even though she was taller than the other girls ( Read more... )

When Suchitra went to school today to drop off the girls lunch boxes, Kavya showed her a letter she has written to her teacher.
