As the subject says, I'm 35w2 days, this is my first pregnancy. My blood pressure's been pretty high my whole pregnancy, my OB told me the appointment before last he might have to induce me a couple weeks early, as it was 137/91, but he said never mind last appointment, as it had gone down to 130/84. I haven't had any protein leakage at all. This ( Read more... )

My blood pressure was normal through my entire pregnancy but I started to swell when I was around 30 weeks. First it was my hands, not enough to notice until I lost the feeling in my fingers which at first I attributed to carpal-tunnel (I'm a hairstylist so I have some symptoms of that anyway and it can be exacerbated by pregnancy). Whenever I had massive swelling I followed up with my doctor just to make sure. It sounds like a symptom of just being over active in hot weather, but it never hurts to get checked out. You're most likely to wait till tomorrow - however you know your body best and it's never a bad thing to follow up with medical professionals if you have concerns during pregnancy.

Second the no PowerAde. If it's anything like Gatorade it's packed full of sodium and should be avoided.

Put your feet up and drink a glass of water. I'd probably do this for an hour and if I don't see any relief in my swelling of my legs, I'd call the oncall doc at your practice and ask for advice.

(I have upper calf and ankle swelling on days that I'm in the car too long, on my feet too long or sitting leaning forward too long. It goes away after 8 hours of sleeping and sometimes even after an hour of having my legs up. Doc says not to worry about it as long as it's gone by morning. Full disclosure - I get leg swelling when I'm not eating well and exercising when I'm not pregnant also and my bp isn't optimal. My meds were just upped as a matter of fact. I'm 24w 3 d)
