If you used a doula for a previous birth, or have hired one for this upcoming birth, how did you pick her? Was she recommended by someone you know? Or did you use a service like
http://www.doulamatch.net and browse through the profiles? Or did you just google doulas directly and choose based on their websites?
I am asking because as easy as it was to get business when I was offering doula services for free while I was working toward my certification with DONA, I'm at the point where I am ready to charge a small fee and suddenly I realized I have no idea how to find clients! Waiting and wishing for my friends to get pregnant has been slow going :-)
So I guess what I'm asking is how do I best market myself to pregnant women? If you were shopping for a doula, what could you see/hear/read about her that would spark your interest enough that you would contact her? Any advice or suggestions welcome, TIA!
