Weird sensation

I'm 12 weeks pp and I get this weird sensation in my pelvic/vaginal area. The best way to describe is like I get real warm down there. It's a little bit painful. More uncomfortable than anything. I think it might be cramps but I've never had cramps that felt like this before. Googling didn't help at all. Is this normal? It happens about once a week, if that. It usually doesn't last long.
