I see a 'stroller' tag so I guess it's ok to ask this here? Does anyone know if there's a 'babygear' type community or anything?
Anyway, my question! I've been researching strollers for what feels like forever, looking for something that fits our needs (relatively light/small for use on public transit, reversible, adjustable handle for my tall wife) and have come up mostly empty...it seems like I'll find something that totally meets our needs but then realize it weights 30 lbs! Or is $1000! Or whatever. It's been driving me kind of batty.
Many of our friends/neighbours have been telling us to get either a bugaboo chameleon or an uppababy vista. Great, but these are really expensive strollers, and pretty damn big/heavy too!
This afternoon, my wife saw a bugaboo bee on craigslist - brand new in the box (apparently the woman received two as shower gifts!!!) for half the price it goes for in the stores, bringing it within our price range. She spoke to her, and it's still available, and we were the first to get back to her so we've got first dibs.
Should we go for it? Anyone have or looked at the bugaboo bee
I think the only thing holding me back is that while it's a great deal, it's still a few hundred bucks, and I'm CHEAP! But I've come to realize that strollers are expensive things, and I'm going to have to spend more on this than I did on my bicycle. I'm also laughing about the fact that we're going to look like total yuppies pushing this bugaboo around....haha....
Edited to add: Thanks for all the input! We ended up buying it, and it seems awesome (as well as we could test it out by ourselves anyway!) and relatively light compared to the other reversible options we've seen. And someone should definitely make a babygear community....hmmmm
