端午快樂! Made my own 粽子 again this year, and I was a lot more successful than last year. Granted, last year was the first time I had ever done it on my own, so. XD Nothing escaped from the bamboo leaves this time when I cooked them!! Success :DDDD Especially since a few leaves were starting to split a bit. I will forever side-eye the type I bought at the supermarket my first year here in the UK, though. The technique was absolutely terrible; it was just like three or four leaves haphazardly wrapped around the filling. (But lol, Y. says the way I seal my 餃子 is quite posh, so maybe it's just me (and what I was taught). XD) Either way, though...it's just not 粽子 if it's not a bunch all connected by one string! Having each one on its own is just wrong to me. :(
Also thinking of 屈原 today, of course, especially since my hometown lies within what was once the state of Chu, though I didn't go to a river today to pay my respects to him (and the Aire is just so...small, nothing like the river that runs through my hometown). Nor did I do a lot of other things (where am I supposed to get cinnabar and realgar? (I'm long past caring that realgar is an arsenic sulfide; I'm sure my body's full of toxins already, anyway, due to the world in which we live.)), but one day. One day soon.
