If you still think the game has more luck than skill, than it's possible you still don't know enough about poker, and still think of the game too much in black and white. Pot odds, implied odds, tells, reads, protecting your hand, bluffing, knowing how to play certain hands in certain positions, using your position to your advantage- these are just a few of the number of poker skills that a good player needs to master
( ... )
yeah I see your point and I guess there was a tad bit of exageration...I do still think luck has more to do with it...
say 2 people have good hands...say 2 straights...if you lose on the lower one(say 45678) with 4567 on the table, and the other player has 56789...that's shitty luck...has nothing really to do with the skill of either player...
sure a good play mey not call it seeing that...but some would argue that to be stupid of him...the other player could be betting on a set or something...almost trying to buy it...but if he did call all it is, is bad luck...
I agree with you hob... I've been doing some reading as well, and I think there is so much more than the cards in play when you are sitting at a poker table. I'd say I have improved a lot at the game this year too, although I havent played a lot of games, i've got my fill. Played in a pretty big tournament here at Carleton and finished 10th out of 91. That was a good time. Looking forward to seeing you boys at the table...
I can only imagine that saying the games are 'soft' means they're easy or something along those lines. But even so... saying they're soft simply brings to mind a picture of you stroking a poker table saying 'it's sooo soft'.
I just shit my pants reading that, pure genious. Almost as fun as riding a clydale bare back on a hot summers eve.
Other then that I truely think you guys are fags for talking about poker so much. Seriously you consider the casino "soft" I am sure that plenty others had the same thought when it comes to starting to get good. Look at were it gets 80 % of the people. In the hole broke and addicted.
You play online poker for money as well..my question is how can you cole, afford to lose money ? Where does it come from ? Education ?

Once you turn 19 we should definitely hit up the casino.
I can only imagine the games there are incredibly soft.

And yes, I understand how it is with the poker table stroking. I may have to do that.
