I was a bit nervous as to whether I'd like Juju's new album or not because I can't really handle anything that gets jazzy. Luckily for me, she didn't venture in that direction, so we're left with a gorgeous album of mostly mid-tempo ballads with an R&B touch. Woah, lots of cover albums these days! These two are both cover albums of female artists. JUJU's album features mostly covers from popular female Jpop songs around the late 1990's, so I think many of us will already know a few of the songs. :) Apart from four tracks, the rest of the covers were chosen by fans. This is another of the Ai no Uta ("cherry love heart") compilation series. I expected it to be like dance/club remixes, but surprisingly it's far from it! The remixes give an image of carefree and summer, plus they feel very reggae... so, not your typical remixes! JUJU has been around since 2004, but only really got her big break in late 2008. Her musical background is jazz focused, however I'd say it's her beautiful R&B musical style that's brought her popularity in Japan - and her R&B ballad tracks are GORGEOUS.
