We are at 5 days till I am leaving for Galveston to go on the Cruise for my birthday. I want to be excited about it, but I am bogged down in the getting it done details and some issues with a couple of friends... I'll be able to shake that off once things are underway, but right now its just keeping the level of anticipation down.
Yesterday was my prep for leaving ABATE in the hands of my Vice President. I had an early meeting to go sign some bank papers on our accounts. And then I spent the afternoon with my mom. That was nice. We went to lunch with my aunt and then went shopping. I found a cute swimsuit that I didn't really need, but bought anyway. Got Dave a couple of shirts so that he would actually have something a little nicer than his nerd tshirts. (Star Trek, Nasa, and Sarcastic themed shirts he loves... ) And bought a red wrap so that I won't freeze in the dining room in my formal dress.
After we finished shopping, I left for my abate board meeting. That went well. Set the agenda for the general meeting and hammered out a couple of details about the upcoming events. I also picked up my Girl Scout Cookies. YAY! So good! I went to dinner afterwards with my friend, Professor. That was fun too. Just nice to hang out and visit. He went on the same cruise I am going on, last year, so he is full of good information.
The rest of this week is prep work. Groceries for Marc and the kids, hair appointment (that's a whole other post that makes me look shallow and yet I am still ticked about it!) and nails, packing, cleaning, oil change in the car, lists for the kids, packing for the kids, stuff like that... Easily doable, and yet busy work too.
Any cruise advice out there? Its a basic 7 day Western Caribbean Cruise on Carnival Conquest. I am looking forward to warm days on the beach and many rum drinks in my hand.
