Updat/Life Happenings/Future posts/etc
I just noticed that I made not one post in September. Damn
So first of all, hello, friends, yes, I live and breathe and so on and so forth. Life has been more of the same old same old of late: my dad has had a couple of really good days the last month (I took him to the bookstore, a now rare trip outside the house,) and my oldest nephew turns fourteen this month, which makes me feel incredibly old.
I'm toying with the idea of actually doing the online dating thing. I need to get out of my house more, but trying to gain an actual social life is way too much for me, and I just don't see me meeting guys any other way. (I may need someone to yell at me to do this, for as much as my biological clock is screaming at me, I've thought about doing this for a long time and still haven't so...)
The job hunt is pretty frustrating. The more I think about it, the more I'm beginning to feel like I'll never have a full-time teaching job, which gets me to thinking about what the hell I'm going to do with the rest of my life, because even though I could sub five days a week, that isn't enough money to live on.
As far as future posts go, I have a few planned. I'm trying to get back in the cycle of writing, so I'm redoing my what to write list. You may see an abandoned fic post, where I just give up on certain ideas that I'll never write, as well as a few blog-type entries. I've been thinking about doing more blogging, but not necessarily here. If anyone has any thoughts on where to go on that, I'd appreciate it. It would most likely be thoughts on my own personal life situation (taking care of a parent, a career field with now limited opportunities, probably meta on television and books). I also have an idea for NanoWriMo that I'm outlining, and am excited about.
You'll also probably see a long-winded post about Buffy the Vampire Slayer as I just finished watching the series. It'll include favorite episodes, how I've identified with every main character at once, and how I am a real-life Xander Harris. I will also include an amusing list of everyone I have ever shipped while watching the show, and you can look forward to an amusing side fic inspired by the lovely people at Mark Watches.
