Ok. I am HORRIBLE about eating out all the time. I am single and live alone. I find it to be a pain in the ass to go shopping all the time (especially as I don't have a car) and to cook for myself. I NEVER know what I should cook. Frozen dinners and mac 'n cheese get boring after a while (and aren't very good for you, though eating out is probably even less good for you). I really, really need to change this bad habbit of mine. I really, really need to start cooking for myself more often. If not just for the fact that it's probably cheaper, then for my health.
I will be going to the store this Wednesday, and I plan on buying at least a week's worth of food.
Any suggestions on affordable but tasty foods I can buy? Any recipe suggestions? Keep in mind that I have very little in the fridge and in my cupboards, and I would VERY much like to avoid having to buy tons of herbs and such (one thing that scares me away from cooking for myself is that I can never afford to "stock my fridge" to actually cook! I see great recipes that seem simple until the 39579385798375 ingrediants that I can't afford to buy!).
Any suggestions, websites, ANYTHING to help me out in this endeavor would be fantastic.
