So I wrote this in MC 271 (Constitutionalism and Democracy) last Monday. Incidentally, I need to leave for that class right now. Kim gave me courage to post poetry in my journal by leading through example. (i.e. All the cool kids are doing it.)

Today, instead of paying attention in our Methods course, astraevirgo and I wrote a poem. I thought I'd share it with everyone. Now remember, friends, that this was written slam/round-robin style and has not been edited.

I feel the need to expose my innermost self through touching and lyrical verse.

( bad poetry )

aggregate moans fly
through shoots of freedom,
united, frolicking in the
shattered sands of unearned passions
as ragged, drunken orchids
unfolding into captive obligations.
